Sustainability

Better Designs. Responsibly Sourced. Packaging with Less Impact.

Sustainable packaging really matters. In today’s marketplace, there is an ever-increasing awareness of the impact of packaging on the environment. Brand-owners, retailers and customers alike are demanding more sustainable packaging solutions. Sustainability and recycling are becoming major factors along with quality and price in purchasing decisions.

Sustainable packaging is about better designs. Our design approach is to ensure that the packaging is “right sized” and not over-packaged while at the same time safeguarding that goods arrive in perfect condition. We will evaluate whether excessive components can be reduced or if hard to recycle materials can be eliminated. Often, these better designs can also lead to cost savings.

Sustainable packaging is about using sustainably sourced materials. In a global supply chain, measures must be taken to ensure that wood fibers are only sourced from legal sources. Also, forests should be managed in a way that balances the ecological, economic, and social impacts. Third-party forest certification has become a way to demonstrate that forest operations comply with good forest management principles. We offer two major on-product forest certifications: Sustainable Forestry Initiative ®(SFI®) Certified Sourcing and Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Chain of Custody.
